Virginia Satir (1916-1988) was an American author and therapist, known for providing family therapy. She pioneered work and research in the field of family reconstruction therapy. Satir is widely regarded as the mother of family therapy. She published many books as her research on family therapy continued on. She also frequently dabbled on poetry and promoted self-growth in individuals and in groups.
